KATHY BARR - Follow Me (1957-2007) RCA Female Vocal 1000 Series / M4A (tracks) lossless [16bits 32hz]

Feel free to judge Follow Me by its sultry cover -- Kathy Barr's come-hither look speaks volumes about the torchy atmosphere of the music contained therein. A solid if unremarkable collection of late-night ballads firmly in the Julie London mold, the session boasts jazz-inspired Jerry Fielding arrangements that coax some genuine passion and emotion from Barr's otherwise by-the-book vocals. Too often she relies on her sex-sells charm to carry the material, although to be fair, there's only so much even the most gifted vocalist can do with overly familiar warhorses like "Day In, Day Out," "How Long Has This Been Going On," and "My Heart Belongs to Daddy." by Jason Ankeny
