This box, wants to be not only a tribute to one of the most beautiful voices of the Italian music scene, but also an occasion, for those who have had the opportunity to appreciate the Artist in recent times, to discover the most significant part of his initial repertoire.
Orietta Berti's career, which exploded in 1965 with the victory at "A record for the summer", is still in full swing today. With an uncommon vocal extension and an always sober, effective and expressive interpretative taste, over the last few years, the singer has had the opportunity to be appreciated not only for an intelligent musical research that has allowed her to wander through various genres, but also for her skills as a great communicator, manifested in the roles of brilliant actress and ironic TV presenter. Through the discs of this precious box, it is possible to retrace the first 15 years of this multifaceted artist's career, who has been able to overcome the advent of different fashions, consistently accompanying the public in the inevitable changes in musical taste, without ever distorting his artistic personality, rather managing to make a significant contribution to the construction of the soundtrack of the last forty years of life in our country. All this while still maintaining the simplicity and consistency that have made her a beloved character from a highly varied audience. With Polydor, Orietta has made about two hundred songs, some of which have become true classics of Italian pop music http://www.oriettaberti.it/
The first CD includes the period from 1963 to 1966 and opens with the two tracks that make up the first 45 rpm published by Polydor: Suburban serenade and Our moments (Nos-sos momentos), two South American pieces interpreted respectively by Dalva De Andrade and Elizeth Cardoso. Follows the successes Dominique (first single with the songs of Suor Sorriso), Tu sei quel (winner of A disc for the summer 1965), I want to say thank you (first place at the Rose Festival 1965), Every street (another song by Sister Sorriso also included in the film Zum, zum, zum, n.2) and I will give you more (Sanremo Festival 1966), here also in Spanish (Yo te daria mas), unpublished for Italy. Of the real rarities never released to date on CD are-no Everything is finished between us, Go, Bobby go, Losing you (cover of Losing you sung by Brenda Lee, here in the very rare version inserted in the 33 rpm Italy's incomparable of 1966, published only in the USA), Scorderai (Stay awhile a great success by Dusty Springfield), If by chance (translation of the hit by Lesley Gore No more tears), The simple girls, My muse, Where, I don't know (in the original version of 1966) and The first love letter. Five unpublished songs complete the album, all dated 1965: An hour and then, Before love ends, And if in a while, The girl of a summer and Sister Adele, discarded in extremis from the album Orietta Berti sings Sister Smile

The first song Le ore del sole was released only in Spain under the title Trouble galore; the English version (whose master of the original recording has unfortunately been lost) accompanies the opening titles of the film Agen-te 3S3 - Massacro al sole by Sergio Sollima. Other pieces published only on Spanish soil are La prim-mera carta de amor (The first love letter), Yo te doy las graçias (I want to thank you), Una chi-ca simple (The simple girls) and Butterfly. For the French market only, we find the ver-sions in the language of Io could (Je voudrais) and Come back to me (Tu reviendras). The great successes contained here are When the first star (A record for summer 1966), Return with the sun (first place at the Lugano Festival 1966), Io, tu e le rose (Sanremo Festival 1967), Only you ( A record for summer 1967), He will come back to me (Festivalbar 1967), L'amore è blu (L'amour est bleu launched by Vicky Leandros at the Eurofestival '67) and Tu che non sorridi mai (Sanremo Festival 1968) . As in the previous album, even here there are real rarities never released on CD: When you leave (When my baby cries, success of the English Lesley Duncan), A meeting like many others, A useless doll (cover of Sunny girl by Hep Stars, a formation that will then give rise to Abba, recorded in Hamburg with the orchestra conducted by James Last), When in the night, For all the good you want me and Love for life. Finally, two more unpublished works: From now on in 1967 and Na musica doce the following year

The complete reprint of the Zingari album ... (dated 1976), occupies the fifth and last CD. Inside the original cover of the 33 laps was the following presentation caption: "Why does Orietta Berti sing the gypsies? Because the wandering of these tribes, who come from the east to move west and vice versa in obedience to the laws of nomadism, finds its constant point of reference in Emilia. Because, around the house that Orietta saw as a child, there were always camps and, therefore, gypsy voices and sounds, with Slavic, Magyar and Andalusian, or even Armenian colors. Because Orietta Berti is a singer of extraction and popular sensitivity and the songs of the gypsies are one of the most genuine components of folklore. This micro furrow therefore constitutes a valid testimony of ancient civilizations enclosed in customs and customs that repeat themselves unchanged in our times, but also the affectionate return to childhood and adolescence of a sensitive and attentive artist. Happy appointment for the creation of a record work, the first of its kind, which wants to be a further contribution by Orietta Berti to popular singing given with research severity and unparalleled professional rigor. The texts, which are all by Luciano Beretta, re-write in simple language, ancient Gypsy stories; the music, collected by Mario Battaini and Vanni Moretto, are the result of years of careful and meticulous investigation. These are musical expressions that have come down to us from very distant times. "
